2. Educational Nature & Nutritional Standards

Our nutritional quality scores, portion estimates, transition schedules, and decision-support tools are derived strictly from published peer-reviewed nutrition standards, specifically the FEDIAF Nutritional Guidelines (2025) and the National Research Council (NRC) Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats (2006), combined with label data from our manually curated commercial product database.

All portion calculations and calorie figures are starting baseline estimates. Biological metabolism, individual neuter status, lifestyle, and exercise levels vary considerably. Pet owners remain solely responsible for monitoring their dog's Body Condition Score (BCS) and weight over time and consulting their veterinarian regularly.

3. Eligibility, Age & Emergency Exclusions

To use this Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and possess full legal capacity to enter into this contract.
• You are using the Service for healthy adult dogs (aged 12 months or older) without diagnosed organ diseases (kidney, liver, cardiac, pancreatitis, diabetes, active cancer).
• NO EMERGENCY USE: You will not use this Service if your pet is experiencing acute medical symptoms, including severe vomiting, persistent diarrhoea, collapse, abdominal pain, seizures, suspected poisoning, or breathing difficulties. You must seek emergency veterinary care immediately.
• You agree to provide true, accurate, and current information during the intake questionnaire.

4. Pre-Payment Health Screening & Red-Flag Gating

Safety comes before commercial transaction. Our multi-step intake form incorporates deterministic triage screening. If your answers indicate that your dog has a red-flag condition (such as therapeutic diet requirements, puppy age, or severe clinical symptoms), the system stops the intake process, withholds payment processing, and provides referral guidance to contact a licensed veterinarian.

In the rare event that a red-flag condition is identified only after payment has been completed (for example, via free-text disclosures reviewed during quality control), our system will automatically halt normal report generation and issue a 100% full refund to your original payment method.

5. Pricing, Digital Content Delivery & Cancellation Rights

Pricing & Currency: Prices for our digital analysis reports, educational reviews, and plans are clearly displayed before purchase in the applicable local currency: GBP (£) for UK reports and BRL (R$) for Brazil reports. All applicable sales taxes or VAT are calculated and displayed at checkout.

Merchant of Record: Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, the Merchant of Record for your order. Dodo Payments charges your card and issues refunds; PetFoodFix never receives or stores your card details.

Immediate Digital Performance: By purchasing an automated digital report or immediate label analysis, you expressly request and consent to the immediate performance of the contract and the delivery of digital content. You acknowledge that, under statutory consumer laws (including the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU), your standard statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content expires once the digital report generation or download begins.

Our Voluntary 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee: Notwithstanding the statutory digital content exception above, PetFoodFix voluntarily provides a 7-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee on all standard digital reports. If you are not satisfied for any reason, simply email us within 7 calendar days of purchase at petfoodfix@lookadev.com, and we will refund your payment in full. Brazil Right of Regret (CDC Art. 49): For consumers in Brazil, the statutory 7-day right of regret (direito de arrependimento) under Article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (Lei nº 8.078/1990) is fully recognized and honored for all remote digital transactions.

Manual Educational Reviews: Individual bespoke reviews delivered by a veterinary-trained human nutritionist are refundable prior to the commencement of review work. Once the bespoke educational analysis has been performed and delivered, the bespoke service is non-refundable.

6. Intellectual Property & Prohibited Conduct

All intellectual property rights in the Service—including the deterministic scoring algorithms, Food Quality Framework, database compilation, report layouts, graphical designs, and software code—are the exclusive property of PetFoodFix and its licensors.

You are granted a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the Service and view the generated report for your own pet. You strictly agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or extract data from our database or website using automated bots, scripts, or AI scrapers.
• Use any content, scoring rubric, or report data to train, fine-tune, or benchmark artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our scoring engine, algorithms, or API infrastructure.
• Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit any report, score, or nutritional comparison.

7. Retailer Links & Scoring Neutrality

Our reports and brand pages may contain affiliate links to third-party pet food retailers. If you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive an affiliate commission at no additional cost to you.

Strict Independence Guarantee: Commercial or affiliate partnerships never influence a product's score, quality band, ranking, or recommendation status. Scoring is 100% deterministic and based solely on verifiable label facts and nutritional evidence.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT COMMERCIAL PET FOOD MANUFACTURERS WILL NOT CHANGE RECIPES, PACKAGING, OR INGREDIENT SOURCING WITHOUT NOTICE. PET OWNERS MUST ALWAYS VERIFY THE PHYSICAL PRODUCT LABEL BEFORE FEEDING.

IN NO EVENT SHALL PETFOODFIX, ITS FOUNDER, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO VETERINARY EXPENSES, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO PETFOODFIX IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) £50.00 GBP (OR R$ 250.00 BRL / $50.00 USD).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or non-waivable statutory consumer rights.

10. Changes to Terms & Severability

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in regulatory requirements, nutritional methodologies, or our services. If a revision is material, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
