What does PetFoodFix actually check on a pet food label?

PetFoodFix reads the named ingredients, declared analytical constituents (protein, fat, fibre, ash, moisture), declared calories per 100g, life-stage wording, and any allergen markers. It separates strong label signals from vague terms, missing data, and red-flag ingredients.

Is PetFoodFix a veterinary service?

No. PetFoodFix is an educational platform, not a veterinary clinic. It does not diagnose, prescribe, treat, or replace a qualified veterinary professional. If your pet is unwell, under 12 months old, pregnant or lactating, on prescription diet or chronic medication, or has any red-flag health trigger, contact a veterinary surgeon before changing food.

Can I request a report if my pet's food is not listed?

Yes. If the product is not in the catalogue, use the "Send us the label" flow to share the brand, product name, ingredients list and nutrition table. The information is used to prepare a clearer analysis.

Which markets is PetFoodFix available in?

United Kingdom is the primary market with paid educational reports for healthy adult dogs, and Brazil offers its own educational search and services. United States, Canada, and Portugal are educational hubs in early access.

How is the food score calculated?

The score is deterministic and based only on what is printed on the label: named proteins, named fats, carbohydrate sources, additives, fillers, and the declared analytical constituents. Unknown values are surfaced as "not available" rather than estimated.
